Last night of Christmas vacation and I am feeling blue. I have been off of work for the most part since Christmas eve and have loved it! I am mostly down because the kids start back to school tomorrow. I miss them when we are apart all day. I always feel this way at the end of summer vacation also. Once the week gets going and we are back in a routine I will feel better. I really do not look forward to all the extra activities -piano- dance- religion classes -argh!
Our family time all week has had its moments. The kids really know how to make me crazy, but,we did have some fun as well. We went to MOA and the girls had their doll's hair done at American Girl place and we had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. We went and saw Marley and Me. Tony and I got to go out alone on NYE and spend the night without kids! Thank you to my parents! The kids loved spending the night with their grandparents. I think the best part of vacation was going to bed -Addie and Will always fall asleep in our bed with me on weekends and or school vacations. We like to read or just watch a bit of television and snuggle. Tony likes to stay up late so it works for us. Kenny usually joins us for a bit before retreating to her own room to read.
I had so many organizing plans for myself on this time off and as usual I only got a couple of them finished. I did however happen to re-read a couple books -my favorite indulgence!
My mom left for California today. She drove up to Benson (4 hour drive!) She is staying the night at her cousin's home and than they are leaving for CA at 6am. She will be gone for 10 days. I am sad about her being gone for so long! We usually talk everyday and or see each other. I worry a bit about the long drive for them. I probably worry too much...
